💕 Evan & Frank: The Story of Us

Picture it: New Jersey, Fall 2020.
The world is upside down. Everyone’s been stuck in sweatpants for what feels like 47 years. Enter: two hopeless romantics on Hinge, neither expecting much more than maybe a cute chat… but fate (and questionable decision-making) had other plans.

🚗🌧 The First Meeting – A Love Story (and a Bladder Emergency)

Evan matches with Frank, and they agree to meet. Evan, ever the optimist, hops in his car for the hour‑long trek down the NJ Turnpike. Halfway through, the sky opens up. Not just rain—biblical, build-an-ark levels of rain. But he presses on.

Soaked, frazzled, and desperately needing to pee, Evan finally pulls up to Frank’s house. He texts. A minute passes. Two. Five. Ten. Nothing. The situation is getting dire. And when you’ve driven through a monsoon for a boy you’ve never met, you do what any reasonable person would do…
👉 You sneak into his house to use the bathroom.

🏃‍♂️💨 Meanwhile… Inside Casa de Frank

Frank, fresh from work, is buzzing with nerves and excitement. “He’s driving from over an hour away—I have plenty of time,” he thinks. He tidies up. He picks the perfect outfit. He showers. He does his hair. He ignores his phone completely (🙋‍♂️ guess who’s writing this part).

Frank finally heads downstairs, feeling confident and ready—
…and that’s when he sees him.
👉 The very cute boy he’s been talking to on Hinge… sneaking out of his bathroom.

✨ The Moment Everything Changed

We tell you this because this is the exact moment our story truly began.
When asked recently, “When did you know you loved me?” Frank didn’t even hesitate:

“When my bathroom door swung open and you scared the shit out of me .”

From that day on, we saw each other every weekend until life threw us a curveball: Evan accepted a job in Massachusetts in January 2021. Long distance? We decided to go for it. By March 2021, Frank had packed up, moved north, and we officially started our life together.

🏡 Massachusetts & Milestones

Living in Pittsfield, Massachusetts wasn’t always glamorous (ask us about the snow sometime), but it gave us some of our most important firsts:

We got our very first apartment together… and then our second.

We added a very furry, very spoiled family member—Winston—to the mix.

We learned that love really can thrive in small towns and tiny kitchens.

✈️ Adventures Along the Way

Some of our favorite memories come from the trips we’ve taken:

The US Open in New York – Evan’s dream trip! Frank dove headfirst into tennis life while Evan rattled off every obscure women’s tennis fact known to man.

WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio – Evan got to see Frank light up in his element, surrounded by color guard and old friends, and fell in love with his passion all over again.

And our most unforgettable trip… Mexico.
We celebrated Frank’s milestone 40th (and Evan’s slightly less milestone 27th) at a breathtaking resort in Playa del Carmen. That trip sealed it for us—this is where we wanted to come back, with all of you, to celebrate the next chapter.

🌊 Which Brings Us to Today…

And now here we are, planning the biggest adventure yet: our wedding! We’re heading back to the place where we laughed, loved, and toasted under the stars—Secrets Moxché in Playa del Carmen.

We can’t wait for you to join us where it all comes full circle: the same place we made incredible memories before, ready to make even more with all of you by our side.
